FAQ

Q: What is your lesson rate?

A: My rate starts from $60 for 45 minute lesson, $80 for 60 minute lesson.

Q: Do I need a real piano? Can it be an electronic keyboard or digital piano?

A: Although electronic piano has many good features, real piano is preferable in my lesson. Even with weighted key action, the key of digital pano is too soft for the children's fingers and difficult to make strong fingers. Also, piano is a more expressive instrument, and it is important for the younger ears to hear the real sound and hear the difference in their sound.

Q: Do I need to practice every day?

A: Ideally, yes, but realistically, it is difficult in this modern society.

If you can practice 5 days a week, I think it is pretty good.

The important thing is to concentrate when you practice. 15 minutes of focused practice working on a difficult spot is better than 30 minutes of generic non-focused practice.

Q: Do you have student recitals?

A: Yes, we have 2 student recitals per year; June and December, plus a wonderful cultural event in Nicholas Roerich Museum in Manhattan in collaboration with Russian Heritage Foundation. I also encourage entering non-competitive auditions such as Elite Music Competition, Crescendo Competition, American Fine Arts Festival, and Golden Keys Music Festival.
